In Ventspils happens training as part of the radioastonomy project
2016. gada 22. septembris
ASTRON Training Week 3 was delivered as part of Work Package 3 (WP3) at the Ventspils University, Latvia, from Monday 12 to Friday 16 September 2016. The aim of the week was to provide a full scope of basic topics on digital signal processing and to push the student’s knowledge of DSP up to MSc-level.
The lectures were delivered in order to give sufficient background for later training weeks, in particular ASTRON Training Week 4 (in December 2017 in Latvia). The training was delivered by Ronald de Wild from ASTRON.
The programme for the week consists of a mixture of lectures and practical work on the related topics:
SIGNALS PART I – Basic Signal Processing
- Signals (part 1 of 2) classification ; representations; operations
- Transforms (part 1 of 3) [Continuous‐Time] Fourier Transform
- Signals (part 2 of 2) sampling; quantisation
- Transforms (part 2 of 3) Discrete‐Time Fourier Transform (DTFT) & Z‐Transform
- Systems (part 1 of 3) general: characterisation; properties; behaviour
- Systems (part 2 of 3) specific: LTI digital filters: classification; analysis; synthesis
- Transforms (part 3 of 3) Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) & Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)
